Joseph James (Vulpis) is a full-time live and studio musician, born and raised in New York, and an accomplished jazz pianist whose versatility spans genres and stages. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Joe took his talents on the road, producing and performing alongside some of the industry’s most iconic artists, including Lady Gaga, Bono, Andrea Bocelli, and Ritchie Blackmore, among many others. A prolific songwriter, he has spent years honing his craft on Nashville’s Music Row, earning additional credits in country music along the way.
As a solo artist, Joseph James has made his mark on the charts, landing four Top 40 hits on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart with “For All You Know,” “One,” “Valentine,” and “Sugar.” His pop-dance single “Sugar,” released on June 15, 2024, is available everywhere music is streamed.
These days, Joseph James is based in the Catskills, where you’ll find him performing at local venues—often blending his signature style with his roots as a jazz pianist—or creating in his studio. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album, set for release in June 2026.
